Presenter Rules & Guidelines

Thinking about pitching?
Check out our process, requirements, and some examples for Pitch-A-Friend Toronto before you submit your request to pitch!

Pitch Sign Up Process:

  1. Submit the Pitch Request Form. Spots are limited, so submit early — even if your presentation isn’t ready yet! Requesting to pitch does not guarantee a spot until you are officially confirmed.
    • Events where all pitch spots are full will be marked as (WAITLIST). You can still sign up to join the waitlist, and we'll notify you if a spot opens up.
    • After submitting the form, you’ll automatically receive an email with next steps. If you don’t see it, please check your junk or spam folder — or contact us.
  2. Confirm and Pay for your Spot. After submitting your form, lock in your spot by sending CA$20.00 Paypal payment to None. This small fee shows you’re committed to presenting. You’ll get an email once your spot is confirmed.
    • 📌 Include your name and the event date in the transaction details if possible.
    • 📌 Waitlisted? Do not send payment yet — we'll notify you if a spot opens.
    • 📌 Cancellation Policy: Please email us at least 4 days prior to the event to be eligible for a refund.
  3. Create and Share Your Pitch. Email or share your presentation with toronto@pitch-a-friend.com 3 days prior to the event. You’ll receive email reminders leading up to your presentation. If we do not receive your presentation on time, your spot may be given to someone else.
    • 📁 Preferred Formats: Google Slides or Canva! Please send the share link. If sending a PowerPoint, we may need to convert it to Google Slides and some transitions and fonts may be lost.

Pitch Requirements:

  1. Keep it positive! This is NOT a roast. This event is to promote friends in a positive and fun way with the goal of helping them make a new connection!
  2. Keep it Clean. Please refrain from including nudity or inappropriate imagery.
  3. Keep it between 3-5 minutes! Be imaginative, but aim to keep your "pitch" under 5 minutes. We recommend clearly stating the individual's preferred pronouns, sexual orientation, and age in the pitch.
  4. Make sure your last slide has the required information. The final slide should feature a picture of the person along with their contact information (Instagram, phone number, etc.). This slide will remain displayed between pitches and will also be put on autoplay with the rest of the featured singles during the mingling portion of the event.
  5. Notify us about changes in plans. We understand that things come up, and sometimes plans change. Since spots are limited for each event, we appreciate you letting us know as soon as possible if you need to cancel. This allows us to open your spot for another single to participate. Please email us at least 4 days prior to the event to be eligible for a refund.
